Wynwood

Wynwood Art District is a neighborhood in Miami which is filled with murals, art galleries, restaurants, bars, among other offerings. With everything to see within walking distance, it makes for a fun outing.

We found a groupon for Paniq Room in Wynwood and made plans for that plus dinner and drinks. As photography aficionados, we also took our camera along to take advantage of the backgrounds we would find along the way.

PANIQ ROOM

A mysterious little place with three different rooms, each one of them with a different theme. The purpose of the game is to enter the room and be able to get out within an hour, after solving a set of puzzles and clues to unlock your way out. You make your team of up to 6 people (although for the size of the rooms and amount of clues, I suggest no more tan four) and go in.

WYNWOOD WALLS

In the heart of the neighborhood there is a park with different murals, sculptures, a gallery and a restaurant/bar. If you don’t feel like walking, this is an excellent place to hang out. You will even be able to walk around the park with a drink!

GAB STUDIO

In the north end of the park, across the Street you will find GAB Studio. Make a stop there and check out the GAB EYES Project of its owner, photographer Bridges Aderhold. He has several pictures of eyes of people of every age group. Check out his website or better yet, his gallery to see how beautiful the end result. He will take a picture of your eyes and you can buy a postcard with it and if you want, have it printed large and mounted in acrylic.

I wanted to get something very special for my husband’s birthday and I figured it would be completely original and beautiful to have a picture of my 2 year-old son’s eyes. His age was perfect since his eyes are still full of curiosity, ingenuity and wisdom.

Bridges’ work was exceptional. I was very satisfied with the end result. His professionalism and attention to detail, his responsiveness as well as commitment to deliver a perfect product, made for a beautiful present that was much appreciated and now decorates his and my office at home.
